Bogey's Story
Bogey (aka "Frankie")

This male puppy-mill dog came to us in very poor condition— thin, ears eaten by flies, coat extremely dry and damaged, umbilical hernia, teeth crusted with plaque (3 were removed) and very wary of human contact. He hadn’t given up on humans entirely, though, and daily became more willing and able to get closer with less fear. He was asking for attention within a couple of weeks. A couple in the Denver area who recently had lost their male Schipperke adopted him. They are able to invest lots of TLC and patience and are already making great progress with him. He is devoted to his new "mommy".

The pictures below show Bogey soon after rescue with his bad coat and eaten ears, and the new Bogey with healthy black coat. Bogey attended the SkipNic with Bill and Carolyn. He barked and wagged his butt at the party -- another milestone on his way to becoming a normal dog!
